After earning his undergraduate degree in Journalism and Public Relations at Georgia State University, Stephen Morris went to work with no intentions of ever returning to the classroom. Several years into his career, Mr. Morris found himself working as a government affairs manager for a professional trade association and looking for an additional challenge. He found that challenge by continuing to work full time while returning to Georgia State to pursue his law degree. After graduating cum laude and being admitted to the Georgia bar in 2006, Mr. Morris came to the firm then known as Meadows & Macie in early 2007. After working closely with the firm’s founder and a number of other attorneys over the years, Mr. Morris became the sole shareholder of the firm—now known as Meadows, Macie & Morris in 2022.

His practice focuses primarily on assisting business clients ranging from sole proprietors to large corporations in a variety of areas including general retail, healthcare, governmental authorities, trade associations, retail and wholesale grocery, transportation, and the arts. In addition to working with clients to prevent disputes and claims, Mr. Morris defends businesses in civil lawsuits in Georgia’s Courts; the federal Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia; as well as in administrative matters before the Georgia Department of Labor, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other state and federal agencies.

Having a career prior to entering law practice provides Mr. Morris additional perspective in applying his legal skills to the problems facing his clients. He understands that the most interesting “lawyerly” solution and the best business solution to a problem are usually not the same.

When not working to defend the interests of his clients or spending time with his wife and children, Mr. Morris can usually be found kayaking down a river somewhere.
