For over 45 years, Rod Meadows has been engaged in the active practice of law, the last 37 of which, he served as Managing Partner of the firm recently renamed Meadows, Macie & Morris.  During this time, Rod has been recognized by his peers as one of the Best Lawyers in America for over 30 years and has been named a Super Lawyer since the inception of that program.

Recently, Meadows has assumed the role of “Of Counsel” to the firm, now managed by Stephen Morris.  In that role, Rod will continue to advise and counsel the firm’s “legacy clients”, such as Food Depot, OrthoAtlanta and the Bennett Family of Companies.  Rod will also continue to actively represent the Henry County Development Authority and the Hospital Authority of Henry County, and various other healthcare entities. 

In the dynamic area of healthcare law, Rod is Past Chair of the Health Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, Past President of the Georgia Academy of Hospital Attorneys and Past-President of the Board of Directors of the Henry Medical Center Foundation. Rod founded and chaired the Long-term Health Care Law in Georgia seminar for ten years and the annual Fundamentals of Healthcare Law seminar for 22 years for the Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He previously served as Adjunct Professor of Healthcare Law for the University of St. Francis for 10 years. In addition to serving as the hearing officer in medical staff matters for hospitals and healthcare organizations throughout Georgia, Rod has also served as a member of the Task Force on Trustee Development for the Georgia Hospital Association and authored the chapter on Medical Staff Matters in the current Georgia Hospital Law Manual.  In the corporate arena, Rod has served as General Counsel to corporations in the healthcare,   transportation, grocery, textile, and manufacturing industries. 

Rod has also represented the Henry County Development Authority for the past 37 years, and Chairs the biennial statewide Economic Law in Georgia seminar for the Georgia Institute of Continuing Legal Education. A native of Manchester, Georgia, Rod graduated cum laude from Georgia Southern University, where he served as Student Body President. After 3 years of active duty as an officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, Rod graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law where he was chosen Best Oralist in the Senior Moot Court Competition. Rod is the father of two daughters, an Elder and a former Sunday School teacher at McDonough Presbyterian Church, a Chair Emeritus of the Georgia Southern University Foundation, Former Chair of the Henry County Chamber of Commerce and a senior member (and past President) of the McDonough Kiwanis Club.
