Melissa P. Malcom’s practice focuses on employment and business litigation and healthcare regulation. She has years of experience representing health care providers and employers before state and federal regulatory agencies and has litigated healthcare, employment and other civil cases in courts and regulatory bodies throughout Georgia. Ms. Malcom is the Secretary of the Henry County Bar Association, a member of the State Bar of Georgia and its Health Law and Labor and Employment Law Sections, and a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.
Before becoming associated with the law firm of MEADOWS & LEWIS, P.C. in 2002, Melissa worked for the State of Georgia Department of Corrections primarily in the area of employment law and enforcement of correctional regulations.
Melissa received her law degree from the UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA SCHOOL OF LAW, where she served as a research assistant to Rebecca H. White, who specializes in the areas of labor and employment law and is now Dean of the School of Law. She also completed internships with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Social Security Administration during law school.
Melissa, a native of Tullahoma, Tennessee, graduated summa cum laude from AUBURN UNIVERSITY with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism in 1998. Prior to law school, she was a copy editor for the award-winning Auburn Plainsman and the Opelika-Auburn News.
